The Human Resources (HR) Department is responsible for managing and supporting the municipality’s workforce to ensure that the organisation has the skills, capacity and resources required to deliver quality services to the community.

The department oversees key human resource functions, including recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, training and development, leave administration and employee wellness.

HR promotes fair labour practices and ensures that municipal policies, employment legislation, and collective agreements are consistently applied across the organisation. It also supports sound labour relations and assists in resolving workplace matters in a professional and constructive manner.

The department plays an important role in building a capable and motivated workforce by supporting skills development, career growth and performance improvement. Through effective people management, HR contributes to organisational efficiency, employee wellbeing, and improved municipal service delivery.

Acting Manager: Admin & Council Support

The Administration & Council Support Department is responsible for providing effective administrative and governance support to the Municipal Council, its committees and the broader municipal administration.

The department coordinates Council and committee meetings, prepares and distributes agendas, records minutes, manages resolutions and ensures that Council decisions are properly communicated to the relevant departments for implementation.

It also supports good governance by maintaining accurate records of Council proceedings, facilitating compliance with legislative and procedural requirements, and ensuring that official documentation is properly managed and accessible.

Through efficient administrative coordination and professional support services, the department strengthens accountability, transparency, informed decision-making, and the effective functioning of the municipality.

The Community Services Department is responsible for promoting the wellbeing, safety, and quality of life of residents through the delivery of essential community-focused municipal services.

The department oversees a range of services that may include public facilities, parks and recreation, libraries, cemeteries, environmental health, waste management and community development programmes.

It works closely with communities to identify local needs, support social development initiatives, and ensure that municipal facilities and public spaces are properly managed and maintained.

Through effective service delivery and community participation, the department contributes to creating safe, healthy, inclusive and sustainable communities across the municipality.

The ICT Department is responsible for providing reliable, secure and efficient technology systems that support municipal operations and service delivery. It ensures that all departments have access to functional systems and digital tools required for daily activities.

The department manages ICT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, and communication systems. It also provides technical support to users, ensuring minimal disruption to municipal services.

ICT plays a key role in safeguarding municipal data through cybersecurity measures and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of information. It also supports data management and reporting to improve decision-making processes.

The department drives digital transformation by introducing innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, communication, and service delivery across the municipality.

Records & Administration Manager

The Records & Administration Department is responsible for ensuring the effective management, organisation, storage and accessibility of municipal records and administrative information.

The department manages official documents, correspondence, filing systems, archives, and records retention processes to ensure that municipal information is properly maintained and easily retrievable when required.

It supports good governance by promoting accurate record-keeping, document control, confidentiality, and compliance with relevant legislation, policies and municipal procedures. The department also assists in ensuring that important municipal information is protected from loss, unauthorised access, or improper disposal.

Through efficient administrative support and records management, the department contributes to accountability, transparency, operational efficiency, and continuity in municipal service delivery.

Unit Manager: Dealesville

The Unit Manager: Dealesville is responsible for overseeing and coordinating municipal operations and service delivery within the Dealesville area, ensuring that community needs are effectively addressed in line with the municipality’s strategic objectives.

The Unit Manager coordinates the activities of various municipal departments operating within the town and monitors the delivery of essential services, including infrastructure maintenance, waste management, community facilities and other municipal services.

The office serves as an important link between the municipality and the local community by facilitating communication, addressing service delivery concerns, and ensuring that matters raised by residents are directed to the appropriate departments for attention.

Through effective coordination, monitoring, and community engagement, the Unit Manager contributes to improved service delivery, accountable municipal administration and the overall development and wellbeing of the Dealesville community.
